In my dreams I’m known as Claire the Word Warrior, defender of the English language, protector of proper syntax, slayer of wayward apostrophes.

In reality, I’m Claire the Proofreader, a 25-year veteran of the marketing industry, having worked in project management, traffic, workflow and operations roles in agencies of all sizes in both Sydney and London. My project management roles, in particular, honed my eagle eyes, indulged my obsessive attention to detail and developed an intense appreciation of deadlines.

I have always felt deeply responsible for the accuracy and correctness of any work that’s crossed my path, in any capacity. Embracing that, I decided to specialise, gaining my proofreading qualification in 2011, and have since helped clients all over the world perfect their communications.

I’m a loud and proud word nerd and when I’m not poring over clients’ content, I’m usually spotting typos out in the wild (it’s a blessing and a curse) or enjoying the wilds of my home in the Blue Mountains, just outside Sydney.
